Begin my Journey for Working Holiday in New Zealand
Came back to KL today for a week, to celebrate the September babies' birthday (including mine). ^^ Serene is back from Perth just on the right time for Bon Jovi concert!! So what we had tonight is Japanese BBQ at Bongoya, Jaya One.
The food is ok, nothing bizarre about it, but it's the company that counts. After so long! Finally the group is back! Is fun in a way, just not as crazy as it used to.
Well, the place is nice and comfy, but hot! Sitting outside on a hazy day, not a good idea. LOL! How hazy, you asked? Try finding the McDonald signage.
Finally, after so long, GROUP PICTURE!!!
16 September 2015 (Wednesday)
Happy birthday to me! I'm closer to the Big 3!!! *goshhhh* howfast time flies?!? My day spent with my cousins. ^^ and obviously my dearly beloved Ethan. Have I not introduce my current love? *tadaaaaa*Luncheon was at Livello Uno, TTDI. The food and all is nice and it's at the quite reasonable price as well. *thumbs up*

At night, I went dinner with Chang and he made me talk about myself, just like an interview. =_="
But it was all funny stuff that I never knew I can see things in another way.
17 September 2015 (Thursday)
Got a call from Joh saying that she can upgrade our Bon Jovi tickets to VIP! my birthday wish comes true!!! So, I went to Maybank Tower to get the tickets and exchange with the VIP ones. *smilez*
Sharan bought Chen and me buffet lunch at Maya Hotel because she got promoted, and as my birthday cum farewell meal. As much as I doesn't like the working environment and culture, I miss the real people along the way, and those fake people helps to build who I am today. So, I'm grateful.
After lunch, I went back to office for a visit. Yes, just not my office. My dearest cousin bought me a coloring book! Enchanted Forest. Too bad I can't bring it along to New Zealand. Mr. Foo just came back from Paris and I got a Longchamp bag!!, *yey* Feeling love........
I got no idea why the thing just won't rotate! *damnit*
End up I called, Ms. Yap's extension and talked to her for 2 hours. She takes the opportunity to ask me more working questions. Hahaha! Guess things turn out pretty well.
At night, I went out to meet Pei Yee and boss. We practically chatted the whole night. Even when boss left, we continue our girl's talk and she told me about her adventure in Korea and how she does couch surfing.
18 September 2015 (Friday)
I went back to office again, for lunch with Gary. We talked about good old days, about future, about current situation. I really thank everyone for buying me meals and they practically pay everything for me, even my car park fees. I hope he is going to do well in the future, without me nagging him about everything he did wrong. Hahaha! I'm so happy when he told me I am one of the true friend she found in the office, and my reply was being fake is tiring. *smiles*
Dinner was with all my MA girls. We talked so much that the restaurant have to chase us out because they are closing. Then, we stand at the corridor and continue talking. Bahahahaha!! Girls talks a lot. I totally agree with that.
Midnight and I have to drive to KL Sentral to pick up my brother. He annoys me in every single way you can possibly think of. I don't understand why.
19 September 2015 (Saturday)
Feeling so love when your beauty consultant even buy you cake for your birthday!!
Today is the day!! BON JOVI!!! Yes, I'm screaming and singing my heart out to every single songs!
Birthday celebration for Jane and Edwin at the new Zouk! Drama night as usual, but I'm sober all the time and even Mei Anne said it was weird. Hahaha!
20 September 2015
Went out brunch with Jason and Mei Anne, then ice cream with my Mei Ping. I'm going to miss all my cousin sisterly time with them. *awwwww*
Waited for my brother to finish class and we head back to Penang.
21 September 2015
My last day for packing, my mom and me tried so hard to fit everything within 20kg. Yes, trust me we really tried our best for the whole day.
Brother and Melissa buying us farewell and birthday dinner.
22 September 2015
The day has finally come. Goodbye Malaysia, for 6 months! I'm gonna miss everyone here. *hugzzz*
I understand now why this is for young people, because I don't think my heart can take it as well, running from arrival to departure in such a short period to change my flight. *phew* Glad that's over.
And you wouldn't believe who I met in the Sydney's Airport?!?!? Such a coincident!!!!
This bitch dump me to go New Zealand alone. =( or else we will have such an adventure!! Oh well, I can only hope for the best for myself now.
23 September 2015
Finally!!! Arrived in Auckland, after a 17 hours flight!!~
The first I get went I reached is a NZ number simcard.
It fits perfectly in both my phones but my Sony phone is just too old, and now I have to tethered all the time to my Malaysia number!!! Not to mention the internet data plan here really sucks BIG TIME!!!~ What I got from Vodafone is NZD49 for 3GB for 2 months, 200 minutes free calls and 200 free sms. Seriously, who still sms?!? In Malaysia, I can't even have enough with 3GB per month!!~ So, wifi is my friend now.
Took an Airbus to Ferry Terminal, which cost me NZD16 one way. GOSHHH!!!~ It's freezing cold!! ESPECIALLY when the wind blows! *danggg* So, my couchsurfer friend picked me up from there and we head to the apartment to drop my luggage before head out for dinner. The apartment is at Princess Wharf, a very nice and new developed area that I can view the port from there.
Then, we head for dinner. Guess what is my first meal, Thai food. And the put Penang pork curry as 1 of the meal. T___T
After dinner, we went for a drink in Danny Doolans, where they has very very very nice band! I totally admire the girl's voice!
That's all for the first night. We went back and talked about our lifes until 1am. They think I'm a goddess because I work as an auditor, which is supposed to be a profession career, but I told them it's just cheap labour in Malaysia. LOL!!~
24 September 2015
Day out! A little bit of jetlag, but I need to get things done. So, I head out to open a IRD account and Bank account. Wanted to open Kiwibank because it's the easiest as it is attached with the Postshop, where I can open my bank account.
So, I decided to ask ANZ Bank instead, and they accept hostel as proof of address!!~ After enquiring all the products and features, and I have decided to open 3 accounts with the bank! Everyday account and Savings account. Then, they told me, the don't open account unless I make appointment with the personal banker and their appointment is all fully book until October. T_____T *WTF* For student visa and working holiday visa, the only do appointments in the morning. *double WTF* I wish I can work in the Bank in NZ!! Such as easy life, and I as a ex-banker in Malaysia work like shit until 9pm and bring work back n weekend. *triple WTF* I called the call centre to make an appointment latest, and they could slot me in another branch for tomorrow. I was happy but the personal banker didn't cal me to confirm the appointment at all, so I'm confused.
Ferry Building
Wharf

Deloitte and EY ( I saw PWC but haven't seen KPMG)
Cats is showing in The Civic Theater!

Got tired and get a cuppa while waiting for my couchsurfer friend to finish work
Decided to drive and visit Mission Bay, which I love the neighbourhood there. So peaceful and quiet!
Then, they decided to bring me for chinese food. T____T
Yes, char siew & siu yok!
That's the end of today tiring walk day, with my body-ache with carrying backpack.
25 September 2015
The next day, I went to the branch trying my luck to open the account and they told me it's fully book until October as well. GOSH!!~ So, I walked to Albert's Park and start calling the call centre again, and this time she really helped me to even confirm the appointment with the personal banker, without anymore running around, or else I really gonna be bitchy!
Clock Tower at University of Auckland
St. Paul's Cathedral
Student Hostel
City Central Library
*tadaaaaa*
I gotten myself a Library Card!! yes, I'm a nerd!
At night, we decided to cook, and I told them I can't cook. T___T They think I'm like the Undomestic Goddess that comes out from Sophie Kinsella's book. Anyhoo, I did helped by boiling the pasta and add some salt to it; prepare the tables and clean the dishes later on. Which they find it funny because I didn't use the dishwasher and I wash the whole dirty dishes myself. ^^
It turns out pretty good!
Drinking white wine while watching 'Message in a Bottle' by Nicholas Sparks. So, touching! In the end, die! HAHAHAHA! That's how I end my first Friday night in Auckland! Called mummy and talked for a while and said I will video call her tomorrow when I move to the backpacker because they have wifi there.
Till next time!
Luv,
*rachelle*
