Hope for a Better Week!
28 September 2015 (Monday)
Finally got my appointment booked to open a bank account and *tadaaaaaa* I finally got my bank account and I can EFTPOS like everyone. Hehehehe! The reason why I choose ANZ, apart from they accept hostel as proof of address, they also give the highest interest so far (according to http://nz.deposits.org/savings-accounts/ ). Obviously I did my reviews on ASB as well, but they required a minimum of NZD2,000 deposit, which i definitely don't! *DUHHHHH* So, ANZ it is! For more details on which account I open?? Please, feel free to drop me a message. ^^
What happen after I got my card??
I tried it out in the ATM machines and it got retained ("Swollen") by the machine!!!!!!! *sheeesh* So, I need to go back to the customer service and asked for assistance. Then, she told me there is a sticker saying I can only use it after 15 minutes since activation. Well, then you shouldn't take off the sticker before giving me the card, so I can read it. T___T
After all the drama, I got hungry and I need to use the WiFi to check my map (because 3GB for 2 months is definitely not enough for me to do my research).
The Coffee Club. (My opinion, nothing special)
Came out from the cafe and it was raining! Lucky for my umbrella in the bag (no more aunty now). I walked to the Auckland Art Gallery and try to be sophisticated. HAHAHAHA!! Who am I kidding?!?
Guess what I found here?!?! And there's a lot of other adult colouring book here too. *damn cool*
You are not allowed to bring your bag in unless your bag is really small. So, they will give you a tag for safekeeping your bag
This is just too artistic that I find it a bit creepy
This lady looks like she is wearing a lokai bracelet. LOL!
I purpose take this picture to show my boss that he came from which century. They have the same handwriting, unreadable.
29 September 2015 (Tuesday)
I got a reply from a Kiwi Orchard lady, and I bought my ticket to Opotiki! It's sad that I can't explore much on the north yet, but money come first. Wait till I work enough and I shall take a longer break to explore the north! Hopefully I find a friend by then (*loneliness*).
Today was my biggest achievement! I walked until my leg got so hurt I need to get a bus home! ^_^ Walked from YHA Auckland International to Auckland Domain (which is approximately 30 minutes walk, but going up the hills isn't make it even easier). However, the view is good!
The call this the Lovers Walk. @__@
Across opposite the Domain is the Duck Pond, which I don't see any duck but swans.
Walked for another 10 minutes and there's the Wintergarden Domain, which consist of Four Season House and also Ferns.
I only know this is call the silverfern. LOL!
Yes, I need to climb that hill to go to the Auckland War Memorial Museum. All the kids are so excited to climb the green grass and then sleep and roll down, just to climb up again. I don't understand why T__T
I didn't go in to the Museum alas, as I do not wanna pay the NZD25 because I didn't bring a proof of address to apply for a membership card (which is free)
I ended up walking to Parnell, thinking of seeing the Rose Garden, but I didn't know it was almost another hour walk (including climbing more hills). I love the neighbourhood here too! Very different from Ponsonby but somehow similiar. This has the view of the sea!
Holy Trinity Cathedral
Holy Library
I thought this is the Rose Garden, but the signage said nope and my google map said further front, but after all the walk, is actually this one. =___=|||
Judges Bay Beach
The only rose I saw in the rose garden. @_@ They are just budding.
Because I got so tired of walking from 11am to 4pm, I finally utilised my AT HOP card by taking my first bus ride back to City Centre
and I bought a bit of snacks and dry food in case I am hungry. So, I wanna try such a healthy snack! Mango and Chia seed! *yummilicious* But then I am hungry by 12am.
I finally made new friends! They both from Malaysia and staying in YHA Auckland City. They are some IT gurl and guy, which helps me to solve a lot of my IT problem and my phone problems as well. VERY GOOD! *two thumbs UP* We chatted for almost 2.5 or 3 hours and they seems nice. We helped each other a lot on what we faced and the most I can help is the opening of bank. HAHAHA! That is because they are still waiting for the IRD letter to open Kiwibank when both Kiwibank and ASB do not accept hostel as proof of address. However, I didn't persuade them to change their choice of bank, of course. I am not paid by the bank. LOL! Just tell them on how to go about it.
Oooooh well!!~ That's all for now. It's 2.40am in Auckland now. I'm not sure if I'm having jetlag or just can't sleep and wake up in the morning. *sigh* Tomorrow might be the last day in Auckland, GAMBATEH!!~
Luv,
*rachelle*
